Known Problems
Error on Windows Mobile 5
& Pocket PC 2003 with V2.3: "File or assembly name 'PictureButton'
not found"
When you run IconSpeak on a
Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC, you get the error "File or
assembly 'PictureButton' Version 1.0.2323.21334, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null',
or one of its dependencies, was not found"
Relates to Version 2.3.0 & 2.3.1A,
B & C
Some important files were not included in
the Pocket PC 2003 & Windows Mobile 5 Setups. You can download
updated versions here: Pocket
PC 2003 Setup, Windows
Mobile 5 Setup. Download one or both depending on your needs.
For Pocket PC 2003, overwrite the existing version of the .CAB
file which is located in the IconSpeak\PPC2003\ folder (Usually
C:\Program Files\IconSpeak\PPC2003\). For Windows Mobile 5,
overwrite the existing version of the .CAB file which is located
in the IconSpeak\WM5\ folder (Usually C:\Program
Files\IconSpeak\WM5\). Then dock your device, and from within
IconSpeak Configuration Manager, you can install IconSpeak again
(Tools, Device, Install IconSpeak).
ActiveSync V4.x & Windows
Mobile 5 devices are not supported by V2.2 or below.
Configuration Manager crashes
with Activesync 4.x and IconSpeak will not install or run on a
Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC
Relates to all Versions below 2.3
IconSpeak V2.2 is NOT compatible with Activesync
4.x or Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC's. A new version has been
developed
and you can download it from here.
A new Pocket PC has been connected, would you like to install IconSpeak?
Relates to Version 2.2.7 - 8
If you are using it on a PC which has a Pocket PC connected, please reply No to the question "A new Pocket PC has been connected, would you like to install IconSpeak". Instead, use the menu, Tools, Device, Install IconSpeak to install the program files on the Pocket PC and then choose the NEW button from the tool bar to create a new configuration.
Error 5
Relates to Version 2.2.8
If you are trying it on a PC which does not have Activesync installed you may receive
an error 5 when the program first starts. You can ignore this error.
